Local Development Scheme

The Local Development Scheme sets out the documents that are to be prepared in order to manage the housing and employment growth in South Bedfordshire and Luton. The Local development Scheme gives a timetable for the production of these documents and details of how existing plans will be replaced by new ones. It also lists the supporting studies that will ensure that the documents are produced using the best evidence available.

On the 20th March 2009, the Joint Committee agreed to bring a revised Local Development Scheme into effect. The document was sent to the Government Office for the East of England for formal approval on 23rd April 2009. Once approval has been gained, the revised LDS will replace the existing document. The revised Local Development Scheme can be viewed here.
