Statement of Community Involvement

The ‘Statement of Community Involvement’ (SCI) sets out how the community can be involved in the preparation of the new system of development plans and planning applications. Planning is the only public service with a legal obligation to consult people, and this document is intended to be the cornerstone of the consultation and participation process. A key requirement is to involve all those with an interest in the planning system at an early stage to achieve local ownership and legitimacy for the plans that will shape the future development of our area.
